Prof. Dr. Prof. Dr. Maria Leitner

Prof. Dr Maria Leitner is professor at University of Regensburg. Her research focuses on process automation, secure process-oriented information systems and cyber security. Before, she was professor of Computer Science at Faculty of Computer Science, University of Vienna (external link, opens in a new window) and scientist at AIT Austrian Institute of Technology (external link, opens in a new window), Center for Digital Safety & Security in Vienna, Austria. She was a visiting researcher at the Center for Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics (external link, opens in a new window) at Arizona State University (external link, opens in a new window) in May 2017.

Between 2010 and 2013, Dr Leitner has worked at University of Vienna, Faculty of Computer Science, research group Workflow Systems and Technology (external link, opens in a new window) as teaching and research assistant and completed her PhD with distinction in 2015. Her PhD thesis focused on security policy integration and life cycle management in process-aware information systems. In 2014, Dr Leitner worked as a researcher at SBA research (external link, opens in a new window), an IT security research cluster in Vienna where she focused on the detection of anomalies in access control systems.
