The paper "Employee Motivation in Organizational Cybersecurity: Matching Theory and Reality" by Tobias Reittinger, Magdalena Glas, Sarah Aminzada and Günther Pernul has been awarded with the Best Student Paper Award at the 2024 IFIP International Symposium on Human Aspects of Information Security & Assurance (HAISA). Magdalena presented the paper at the Symposium which was held in its 18th edition in Skövde, Sweden, this year. The paper was about which internal and external motivators drive employees in organizations to act security-compliant. To this end, the authors conducted an interview study with security professionals, executive managers and employees in 16 German organizations of different sizes and industry sectors.

Magdalena also presented a second paper accepted at the conference entitled "Security and Privacy Perspectives on Using ChatGPT at the Workplace: An Interview Study" about end users' perceptions of security and privacy issues of Generative AI when using ChatGPT at the workplace, which she wrote together with her Co-authors Angelika Kimbel and Günther Pernul. Both papers will soon be published as part of the HAISA conference proceedings, accessible over SpringerLink.
