The TRR374 RENPRO supports the careers of female scientists through a variety of measures:

  1. Coaching and mentoring
We organise individual coaching sessions for female scientists towards the end of their doctorate and during the postdoc phase in cooperation with the F3G consortium.
If you are interested in individual coaching, please do not hesitate to contact the Equal Opportunities Officer; we have provided information on the procedure for you here.

Mentoring: Talented young female scientists are encouraged and supported to participate in established mentoring programmes at universities.
    UR: Comment - Mentoring.UR
    FAU: ARIADNEmed and ARIADNE medPeer

  2. Qualification, soft skills courses and career seminars
All young female scientists in the TRR can take advantage of the offers from the F3G Workshop Programme and the Event Series - Equity and Diversity in Academia UR, regardless of their location. the course fees are covered by funds from the Collaborative Research Centre's equal opportunities funds.
  3. Support for additional conference visits by female early career researchers with the aim of establishing further beneficial collaborations for their academic careers, promoting networking and increasing the visibility of the female researcher.
A prerequisite for funding from the equal opportunities programme is that the conference attendance goes beyond the conferences already planned in the project or those that are usual and necessary in the research area. An informal application for this can be submitted at any time via the equal opportunities officer at the TRR.
  4. Support for additional subject-specific training for young female scientists with the aim of building up additional subject-related theoretical and practical qualifications.
The prerequisite for funding from the equal opportunities programme is that these advaned training courses go beyond those already planned or customary and necessary in the project. An informal application for this can be submitted at any time via the equal opportunities officer in the TRR.
  5. Active recruitment of excellent female scientists (MD or PhD, e.g. after a postdoc stay abroad) who are active in renal research and would like to set up their own research group. The scientist will receive financial support for this, e.g. in the form of a research grant for young female scientists on the qualification path as part of the Bavarian Programme for the Realisation of Equal Opportunities for Women in Research and Teaching or the Emerging talents - Initiative FAUeti.
This support is intended to promote the integration of young female researchers into the TRR and to facilitate the application for external research grants (depending on the individual career stage of the researcher, e.g. first DFG application, DFG Emmy Noether or Heisenberg Programme).
All TRR members can propose suitable candidates.
